Mandarin learning (Learn)
The learning language is Mandarin. Characters, pinyin, the four skills and culture live in the dedicated Learn app.
Learning-language baseline
In developmentTeaching glyphs are Simplified and pinyin is the main phonetic system. Traditional script may appear in the interface or annotations, not as the main teaching path.
Characters and stroke order
In developmentCommon characters are learned with radicals, stroke counts and stroke order, linked to meaning and use.
Pinyin and tones
In developmentSyllables and tones are practised separately and linked to listening and pronunciation.
Four skills and culture
In developmentListening, speaking, reading and writing progress in stages, with stories, culture and games reinforcing vocabulary.
Personalisation concept
In developmentWe are designing review intervals and content that adapt to mastery. This is currently at the design stage, not a live learning engine.
AI study companion (scoped)
In developmentSupport is scoped to learning: pronunciation feedback and corrections. Open-ended chat and medical or legal advice are out of scope. A guardian sees a summary of the interaction—topics, corrections and flagged points—never the raw conversation. A full tutor is not yet available.
Guardian progress view
In developmentGuardians will see summaries of mastery, streaks and study time—not raw conversations or a child's work.
Three learning scenes
In developmentConcrete scenes for the child, the guardian and the family—what each gets and what each cannot do.
- Child: a ten-minute character session
Why: short, repeated practice sticks. How: one session with radicals and stroke order. They get: a practice record and review suggestion. They cannot: use open-ended chat, get medical or legal advice, or see ads or external redirects.
- Guardian: review the weekly summary
Why: to understand how learning is going. How: read the summary of mastery, streaks and study time. You get: a summary of trends. You cannot: read the raw conversation or a child's own work.
- Family: share a culture topic before a trip
Why: to connect learning to daily life. How: read a story or culture topic together. You get: a shared topic and vocabulary. We do not: promise unshipped content or share anyone else's learning data.
How we measure learning (methodology)
In developmentWe plan to publish indicators such as mastery change, retention and streaks, always with sample size and definitions. Aggregate data has not yet reached a publishable threshold, so no numbers are shown today; when the threshold is not met we show no stand-in figure.
